I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
